Tim van Huizen
Tim is one of our European leaders who's living in the Netherlands. He grew up in Monnickendam, a small town close to the city of Amsterdam, where he is currently living.
After attending high school, Tim went to the Academy for Physical Education, where he graduated in 2011. He then worked at different schools for a year before becoming a P.E. teacher at the IJburg College, a high school in Amsterdam where the first Challenge Day in Europe was held.
About a year later, another Challenge Day was held at IJburg and while attending it, Tim fell in love with the concept. He applied for and was accepted into the Challenge Day Leader Training and completed his training in California in the summer of 2015. Tim now leads several Challenge Days in the Netherlands and Belgium in addition to his work as a P.E. teacher in Amsterdam.
If you really knew me, you would know...
- I loved my time in California and I see it as the most inspiring and amazing experience of my life
- I have a younger sister who works as a chef in a restaurant and who is my biggest hero
- I always double check if I really locked my car, because one time I left the car keys in the car (dangling on the outside!). Lucky enough, two hours later a neighbor rang my doorbell and gave them back to me!
- I always seek moments to play guitar and dream about making a living through music and/or theater
