Rodrigo is our Information Technology Director aka Rod Rod, the IT God. Rod manages our network, servers, computers, databases, phones... well we could go on but we won't. He also works tirelessly on creating better experiences for our clients, with ongoing improvements to our systems and processes, like this website.
Rodrigo was born in Mexico City and came to the United States at the age of 11. In school he was in the first "Computers in Business" class his high school ever offered, back in the days of the first Macintosh. He loved computers and saw their immense potential. He's been in the computer world in one way or another every since.
He majored in English at UC Berkeley, and afterward worked his way up through the software industry, from customer service to software developer. After many years in the industry he decided to turn his skills to helping start and develop a small charter school, Manzanita Middle, a parent cooperative where he enrolled his youngest daughter.
It was at Manzanita that Rodrigo experienced the power of Challenge Day and was blown away by the impact it had in his own life. In 2004 he came to work at Challenge Day just in time to help with our big customer database project, named Seva, which is Sanskrit for selfless service.
Rodrigo is the epitome of customer service and care. He brings a peaceful, helpful and joyful energy to everything he does, and is always excited to use technology to empower people's lives.
