If you really knew me, you would know...
I often feel like there is a huge conspiracy in the world in which everyone but me has agreed to go about their days and do their work and talk about things as if everything we are doing makes sense and is very important. And I’m like this lost kid who thinks it’s completely unbelievable that somehow we showed up one day on this planet and are here so briefly, and are running around doing things that seem laughably unimportant and strange if you really think about it. So If You Really Knew Me, I often feel a little out of place in the day-to-day world and need to step back regularly and connect with myself and other people and try to focus on loving each other and what really matters or else pretty quickly I just start to feel lost. I'm deeply grateful for the work of Challenge Day that has helped me and so many others re-connect in deeply heartfelt ways.
Everyone you see, you say to them, “Love me.”
Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
Someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one who lives with a
Full moon in each eye that is always saying,
With that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?”
