Reynolds Responds to Shooting

In June 2014, a Reynolds High School student entered the school with a rifle, shot and killed a student and wounded a teacher, before turning the gun on himself. Among a multitude of traits, Reynolds High School students have demonstrated impressive resilience in the wake of this tragedy. The district, school and community have invested generously to help people recover from the trauma of the shooting. Challenge Day was brought in to be a common forum for students to share what they're going through, recognize that they have much more in common than different and to reinforce the strength of their character. "I learned just to be myself. Not to listen to what people say. If you want to be something, just keep striving for it. Don't let nobody stop you. If you want to be an athlete, or architect, or engineer – whatever. Don't let nobody put you down. Just keep working towards that goal and sooner or later, you're going to achieve it."
