Over De Streep

Episode 6: Gymnasium Celeanum – Zwolle (English Subtitles)

Marc is not used to talking about his feelings; he puts his feelings into his piano playing. He considers himself Dutch although his father fled from Vietnam. He feels pressure from his father to perform well.
Marieke is the only student at school with a physical disability. Because of a muscular disease, she is in a wheelchair. Because she is in a wheelchair some people think it has affected her mentally as well. Actually she does not think that much about her disability.
In addition to attending school, Pascal runs a theater production company. He has so much drive and is so professional that he is called ‘the new Joop van den Ende" (a well-known Dutch theatrical producer). He never knew his biological father, and his stepfather died of cancer. He tends to assume the role of the father in his family.
Seventeen-year-old Zoe wants to succeed. She is dyslexic, so her schoolwork takes a lot of effort. Her mother, with whom she has a strong bond, was only a teenager when Zoë was born. She has a somewhat difficult relationship with her father.
