Beginning July 28, 2011, Dutch viewers will watch how students at six high schools in The Netherlands experience Challenge Day. In the 6-episode documentary series "Over de Streep" teens participate in the day-long program that encourages mutual respect and understanding. This new series airs on Dutch public TV station KRO and is a response to a 2010 documentary, both produced by Jessica Villerius of Posh Productions. After the 2010 broadcast, hundreds of Dutch secondary schools requested Challenge Day, a clear signal that The Netherlands would embrace this transformational program!
Regarding this new affiliation with The Netherlands, Challenge Day CEO, Jaime Polson, said "This is an extraordinary time for Challenge Day to have our program chronicled in a new documentary series in The Netherlands. Since Challenge Day started providing programs in 1987, we have seen teens and adults experience compassion and connection through our program as well as a reduction in bullying and discrimination in their schools. We are very hopeful that because of the new KRO TV series, "Over de Streep," Dutch schools that have the Challenge Day program will see the amazing acts of healing relationships and deep hurts. This incredible series is the visible connection Challenge Day has with The Netherlands; a profound relationship that is one of the heart, mind and spirit."
Specially trained Challenge Day Leaders who were filmed in the series are Jake Cahill, Pam Dunn, Sela Gaglia, Jon Gordon, Jyoti Subramanian, and Kekoa Won (pictured in order starting from the top left).
