Who we are
- Challenge Day is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides powerful one-day programs as a service to middle, junior, and high schools, and other organizations and companies.
- Our 6 1/2-hour Challenge Day program is designed for 100 students. Our program is created to build connection and empathy, and to fulfill our vision that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved, and celebrated.
- Challenge Day is more than a one-day program. It is the spark that ignites a movement of compassion and positive change, known as The Be the Change movement.
- Since 1987, Challenge Day has inspired hundreds of thousands of youth and adults. We have led Challenge Days in 450 cities, 39 U.S. states, 5 provices of Canada, Japan, Germany, and Australia.
How it works
- You hear about Challenge Day and present the idea to your school.
- Your school loves the idea and is excited to find out more.
- You share information about our program, and follow the steps found here on our website:
- An on-site coordinator is identified, who works hand-in-hand with our team to organize, plan, and build momentum for the day, and sustain the spirit of Challenge Day throughout your school.
- The coordinator helps form or identify a Be the Change Team. This team creates an action plan for pre- and post-Challenge Day activities.
- The coordinator follows the How to Bring It steps throughout the process.
- If Challenge Days are scheduled for your school, we send two of our highly-trained, passionate Leaders from the San Francisco Bay area to facilitate your Challenge Day.
- You, students, and selected adult volunteers participate in one of the most powerful, life-changing events imaginable: Challenge Day.
- After your Challenge Day, participants are inspired to be the change they wish to see in the world. The possibilities are endless.
