Challenge Day Program

Being the Change you wish to see in the world – Gandhi

The change starts here - where you and other youth around the nation are inspired to create change in your schools and communities!

To bring Challenge Day to your school - the first step complete is to present Challenge Day to a teacher, counselor on someone on administration.  As you have seen on the MTV show “If You Really Knew Me”, Challenge Day is a powerful, emotional and youth centered program.  Often, youth have issues that may come up for them during the course of the program and they may need additional adult support.  We want to make sure all students who participate in the program receive the support that they may need.

Here is a link to some useful guidelines on how to present the Challenge Day program to the administrators and staff at your school.  While we feel it is a useful tool, we encourage you to make it your own in whatever way you feel necessary.  It may be by sharing how Challenge Day has impacted your life or how you see the school benefiting from the program.  Most of all, have fun with it!!!

Once you have an adult at your school committed to overseeing the program in team with you, please submit a Program Request Form.  We highly encourage you to sit with that adult while submitting the form as you have first hand information on what happens at your schools (issues, cliques, etc.).  We would love for you to continue to be in the booking process and participate in the coordinating of the Challenge Days.  The reason each employee comes to work at Challenge Day is to serve you, the youth – you inspire us because we see and hear about the powerful ways you change your schools and communities each day.  Thank you for Being the Change!  We look forward to working with you.

Challenge Day is a program created to build connection and empathy, and to fulfill our vision that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved, and celebrated. Challenge Day is more than a one-day program.  It is the spark that ignites a movement of compassion and positive change, known as the Be the Change movement.

Challenge Day provides powerful one-day, 6 1/2-hour Challenge Day program designed for 100 students for junior high schools, middle schools, and high schools with students in grades 7-12. Challenge Day also serves organizations and companies.

The Challenge Day youth program is $3,200 per day* for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years, not including travel costs. See our pricing sheet.

*Schools or organizations that require travel by air or are more than a 1-hour drive from Concord, CA must book a minimum of three consecutive days shared by no more than two schools per trip. Travel expenses will be billed on a per school, per day basis. If you do not have the required 3 day minimum, we still encourage you to submit a Program Request Form (before submitting, see below for more information) so we can contact you and see if it is possible to book your program with a school in your area.

Challenge Day's simple three-step Formula for Change

— Notice, Choose & Act —

  • NOTICE – Wake up! Notice what's happening.
  • CHOOSE – Dream It! Create a vision for what you DO want your life to look like.
  • ACT – Do Something! Have the courage and commitment it takes to be the change
